What Is Rob Wealth in BaZi?

Rob Wealth in BaZi, called Jie Cai (劫财), is the Ten God relationship formed when another Heavenly Stem shares the Day Master's Five Element but has the opposite yin-yang polarity. The name is a traditional label, not a prediction that someone will steal from you or that you will lose money. It identifies one type of peer relationship. The rest of the chart determines how that relationship operates.

How Rob Wealth is derived from the Day Master

Every Ten God is calculated from the Day Master, the Heavenly Stem of the Day Pillar. First compare the two stems' Five Elements. If both belong to the same element, they fall into the peer family. Then compare polarity:

• Same element and same polarity gives Friend or Peer, called Bi Jian (比肩).
• Same element and opposite polarity gives Rob Wealth, called Jie Cai (劫财).

Polarity gives the two labels a different relational structure. It does not create a fixed personality split such as "cooperative Friend" versus "competitive Rob Wealth." Either can support collaboration or expose friction. Strength, season, placement, repetition, and the roles around it decide which reading has support.

What changes the meaning of Rob Wealth

The formula identifies Jie Cai. Its meaning comes from the surrounding chart.

Day Master strength and season

The Month Branch supplies the main seasonal background, while roots and support show how firmly the Day Master is established. Peer force can add support when the Day Master has limited backing, but it can become excessive when same-element energy already dominates. The name alone cannot tell you which condition applies.

Position, visibility, and roots

The derivation is direct:

1. The year stem is Ren, Yang Water.
2. Ren and the Gui Day Master are both Water.
3. Their polarities differ, so the year stem is Rob Wealth.
4. Ren also appears as a hidden stem in both Shen branches.
5. The engine records Rob Wealth three times: once visible and twice hidden.

The same chart also contains Gui hidden in Chen and Chou. Because those stems match both the Day Master's element and polarity, the engine records two Friend or Peer relationships. This makes the difference between Bi Jian and Jie Cai visible in one chart.

The rest of the chart changes what the count can mean. The engine rates the Day Master at 48, labeled neutral and slightly weak, and identifies a Bi Jian pattern. Direct Resource and Direct Officer each appear three times, while Hurting Officer appears on the month stem. Peer force sits beside support, standards, and expression. That makes peer exchange and boundaries relevant questions within a larger structure of support and responsibility. It does not justify claims such as "this person loses money to others" or "this person is greedy."
